The discovery of a large number of secret pits containing calcinated not-identified bodies makes one to fear the worst and reveals the violence in this region.

These crimes are part of a long list of murders and disappearances of activists from the left and defenders of Human Rights, constantly denounced but rarely punished.

Bishop Raul Vera, former mediator of the conflict of Chiapas does not stop denouncing the increasing confusion which settles down in Mexico between the political, judicial and financial structures of the country and the organized crimes.

In this context, the little willingness shown by the Mexican government after the kidnap of the 43 students as well as the blockades exercised by the judiciary are more than disturbing. It is the moment in which the European Union and its member governments shall call to attention that the democratic clause included in the agreement of association signed with Mexico foresees its suspension in case of violation of the Human Rights.

The EL condemns the repression and the murder of 6 persons committed by members of the local police and the members of criminal organizations at the same moment the students were kidnapped.

The EL expresses its most profound preoccupation facing the risks this evolution represents for the future of the democracy and the Rule of Law for Mexico and transmits all its support to the families of the 43 students, to the Mexican progressive and democratic forces which fight for the respect of life, justice and the end of the impunity.
