After the regime change in Hungary, the roma workers were the first who lost their jobs. The capitalist model of our country and the privatization of the socialist sector - which previously gave employment for the roma people - had dissolved. In addition the racism of the state – like against the black people in the US – had created the new enemy, the colored skin people, who is always the scapegoat for the social and economic problems by the fascists and the billionaires instead of who is really responsible for it
The ghettoization, the discrimination, the irregular work, the latent and the overt racism resulted the impoverishment of the Roma people and slipping them into the disastrous social gradient and not the racial or genetic causes which always mentioned by the rightist groups.
The previous governments did nothing to improve the standard of living of the Romas, accept some positive discriminational step for put some Roma into the shopwindow, but this was also harmful for the integration.
We have to fight against the discrimination, especially if it has fascist character. It is a more serious problem if this problem practiced by the state or companies and not just individual persons. It is a crime if a company is not open to employ people because they are Romas. This is why we are joining for those civil groups who boycotting the products of the Detki.
In this case the Workers’ Party 2006 asking for the help of the Party of European Left for an investigation in a European level.
The way of solving the social problems of the Romas are through the education, the creation of new jobs, with full employment and fair wages and the elimination of children poverty, and not with violent solutions of the Hungarian fascist groups. Against those hatred policies which make the problems worse, we offering a humanist, democratic and sensible alternative: an exploitation-free and just commun society.
