The “March against austerity and finance, for the sixth republic" rallied 180 000 people yesterday in Paris. Faced with a French government that turns its back on its promises of change, it is the "left people” who began to move again for a new national political deal.

The EL - which was represented at the demonstration - reaffirms its support for the Left Front, which has again opened a hope for the people of France and the peoples of Europe.

Popular and demanding, this mobilization must be heard in France and Europe to finally stop the austerity policies and build a model of development that meets the challenges of the 21st century, the needs of the peoples instead of those of the banks.

The European Left welcomes the success of the march and will be present on June 16 to participate in the forum "For a social and democratic transformation of the Republic" with the French to build a new European project.
