With a significantly growing score, compared to the last presidential elections, President Rafael Correa has been elected as the head of his state for the third time.
The Party of the European Left (EL) salutes this magnificent victory which gives the citizens’ revolution a new dynamic. The score obtained by the president Rafael Correa and the majority obtained by its movement "Alianza Pais" mark the acknowledgement of the Ecuadorian people towards a determined policy in favour of radical political changes including the democratisation of the political system and the adoption of a new constitution in favour of more social justice. It’s the victory of ideas of sovereignty and solidary integration of the peoples of Latin America.
The EL warmly welcomes the president Rafael Correa and expresses all its solidarity with the Ecuadorian people, with the forces of progress and with the Ecuadorian left who begins a new phase of its revolution.
