Mobilizations of workers are taking place today across the European Union, after the call of the European Trade Union Confederation.
The Party of the European Left supports and participates in this important day of action against austerity policies pursued by the EU, IMF and ultra-liberal governments.
There is an increased anger building in the world of work and this is normal. Wherever they are in the streets, workers can count on the EL and its member parties to support their struggles.
Wage cuts, the undermining of collective agreements and social and labor rights, all these punitive measures must be combated.At a time of the bankruptcy of ultra-liberalism and the crisis of financial capitalism, it is a social, democratic and sustainable alternative that must be built and not the strengthening of the markets dictatorship covered by the new Treaty of Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel.
The EL invites all those who refuse austerity and lethal competition between people to join this dynamic of European reconstruction. It organizes on the 30-31 March in Brussels, a European alternative summit alternative to help in this direction.
