The member and observer parties of the Party of the European Left express their full support to and solidarity with the President of Bolivia, Comrade Evo Morales, with reference to the attempt of assassination by European and Bolivian mercenaries at the service of the oligarchy and imperialism.
Since Evo Morales’ accession to government, numerous attempts of destabilisation have been made, such as the so-called “autonomous revolt” of the wealthiest regions of the “Media Luna”, the Pando massacre against the peaceful demonstration in support of the legitimate government, and the attempt to block the new electoral law while the great majority of the Bolivian population was supporting their democratic government and president.
We reconfirm our full support to the people of Bolivia in their effort of freedom, and believe in their and the legitimately elected authorities’ victory.
