We in the European Left want to change Europe. We say even: „, Yes, we can change Europe “- so the title of our political document of the first EL-congress in Athens. In order to change, we have to become acquainted with each other in order understand each other.

Because how we are to support ourselves mutually and strengthen each other if we only superficially know each other - as individuals and as movements with their ever own history, their experiences, their everyday life, feelings, culture? The politically correct passwords are devised not at the green table, they come rather from the life. And they can ignite a fire only if they are interweaved with thousand threads in the everyday life of the people.
Our everyday life however, our history and culture is very, very different in Europe. The ditch between „the old “European Union countries and „the new “is particularly deep. And again there are women, who rather are aware of a certain strangeness within the European Left, even within el-fem. Because as Feminists we implement the policy of the subjectivity into the politics of the workers' movement - or we try it at least.
