Go to newsMaite Mola urges the EU and its countries to stop giving lessons to Venezuela
In solidarity with President Maduro and Dilma Rousseff
Maite Mola, Vice-president of the Party of the European Left (EL) participated yesterday in the world day of solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution and the management of the President Nicolás Maduro, in an event that was held yesterday afternoon in Brussels. She did it, on behalf of the EL, denouncing along with the CELAC, UNASUR, the Forum of São Paulo and the ALBA "the new aggression against the homeland of Bolivar" and to express the support and solidarity of the EL to the President Maduro.
The responsible of International Relations of the EL pointed out that neither the economic war of the Venezuelan ruling classes nor and the interference of the United States with material and financial support to the opposition, "with campaigns of vilification, trying to create an image of a dictatorial country", have been able to subdue Venezuelan left.
Once again, Maite Mola, criticized the EU´s following of and falling in line with the foreign policy of the United States and demanded the EU, and countries such as Spain, "to stop giving lessons to Venezuela because they have no moral authority to do so". She recalled that the EU has signed "a degrading agreement with Turkey, exchanging money to prevent refugees, (...) a country presided by a dictator".
She also pointed out that meanwhile in Spain the government defends a "shameless Amnesty Law that violates international law, threatens democracy and stability in Venezuela", that in this southern European country a gag law is imposed that imprisons people for exercising the right to freedom of expression. She added that the Venezuelan amnesty law would release thieves and corrupt of prison.
The Vice-president of the EL took the opportunity to offer her full solidarity with those affected by the earthquake in Ecuador and to offer support to Dilma Rousseff and the PT in Brazil in the attempt of the right of depriving them of the government with de facto a coup and in order to reach the power with dirty manoeuvres as they were unable to do so at the urns.
