Equality of access, quality, democracy, participative nature and universality represent the founding principles of public services which we want. Public services have to equilibrate the differences of class, gender, territory and country of origin.

Neoliberalism commodifies and privatizes public services and appropriates and perverts the meaning and value as well as the vocabulary, owned by progressive forces.

The citizens are more and more dispossessed and estranged from public services whereas the state disengages. All the countries of Europe are not able to escape from this process, even if the mechanism of its application changes.

 

THE EUROPE WHICH WE FIGHT FOR IS A DIFFERENT ONE!

Our Europe

 Opposes the appropriation of public resources by the private enterprise

 Opposes public-private partnerships servicing the profit.

 Considers peoples as actors who master the orientation and management

 Is in favor of a sufficient financing, in line with the public budget and progressive tax system

 Engages itself in favor of the equality of access to and the enlargement of common goods

 Demands the creation of a social, solidarity and ecological European fund for public investment

Our strategy is to unite the struggles, to call for a social and political mobilization against the submission and the closing down of public services.

Because of their huge negative impact on public services, we call for the end of the negotiations of the TTIP between USA and UE, and especially we will focus on our fight against TISA, the trade in services agreement.

It is clear that education, health and social services are as public services pillars, but also water, energy, housing, transportation, communication, culture are domains which lift the common good the same way as the environment. This is the reason for the importance of public services for the defense of the environment, in favor of which the EL will participate in alternative meetings within the context of the COP21 in Paris.
