Go to newsSTOP TTIP & CETA & TISA. There is no democracy without the will of the people
We need to stop the TTIP, along with CETA and TISA!
The aim of these treaties between the EU and the USA is more sharply to concentrate economy in a few hands through the market deregulation, privatization and globalization of the economy, without the globalisation of resources indeed. If we do not stop it, it will be the world's most important free trade zone. The principle of deregulation will be over everything: national sovereignty, human rights, environment and even peace. NATO, at the Summit in Cardiff on September 4, 2014, already made a eulogy to the TTIP and created a Rapid Intervention Force guaranteeing that the raw materials won’t be put into question.
Besides, the member states will lose the possibility to appeal against the judges’ decisions when a foreign company denounces a government on the grounds that a specific law hurts their commercial interests.
It is easy to dismantle the unfounded promises that they make on economic growth. We know what happened with the free trade treaty between the United States, Canada and Mexico. Mexico lost its export capacity against the invasion of American products. And the working conditions became precarious in labor and in the fall of wages.
Workers become a simple merchandise, and it will allow that a Polish worker can be hired in Poland to tighten screws in a factory in Germany with the economic conditions and labor rights from his country of origin. In the United States there is no workers’ right, only individual relationships. No worker may turn to a court. It is the capital's dream of the flexi safety made true.
Citizen mobilization can take back the Treaty, which is an attempt of abduction of our rights and public and social services. It would not be the first time. We have the resounding NO that the French people gave to the Constitutional Treaty in 2005.
The European Left supports and takes part in the actions that will occurr in Brussels on 18th April, the Executive Board being held this weekend at the CES, will join the demonstration that will parade through the streets of Brussels with its banner against the TTIP and in favour of solidarity, rights of all and for peace. The parties of the EL will participate in their respective countries in the demonstrations organized for that day.
