Go to newsThe EL supports the Spanish “Marches of the Dignity” claiming Bread, Work and Roof
The vice-president of the Party of the European Left (EL), Maite Mola, will take part in the Marches of the Dignity (Marchas de la Dignidad), next Saturday March 21, representing the EL, which, as it did a year ago, will be demonstrating in the streets of Madrid with the Spanish people to claim a country that guarantees Bread, Work and Roof, in sum, a dignified life for all.
From the previous March of Dignity, which only a year ago brought more than one million people in the demonstration in Madrid, the situation has not improved. In Spain nearly three million people lack of income, and the situation affects more than half a million homes. Created jobs are precarious and with low wages. Today people are poor even when having a job. The 24% of the population is unemployed. Poverty reaches 30% and one out of every five people is at risk of severe poverty and social exclusion.
In this situation of social and political emergency that Spanish people lives, the EL will be in the streets of Madrid claiming the right to housing, Nonrecourse debt and against the sale of the social housings, against the restrictive budgets in the public administrations, against the payment of the odious debt, the unemployment, the instability, the cuts, the TTIP, the corruption, the repression, the patriarchal system and for a constituent process that overcomes the regime of 78.
