Go to newsMaite Mola recalls, from Venezuela, the achievements of Bolivarian revolution driven by Chávez
The vice-president of the Party of the European Left (EL), Maite Mola, who is spending this week in Caracas at the Venezuelan Congress of Women, is taking part in the acts in which the Venezuelan people pay tribute to Commander Hugo Chávez, in the second anniversary of his death.
"We are here to celebrate, the achievements of the Bolivarian revolution and participatory democracy initiated by Commander Hugo Chávez, and continued for the last two years by Nicolas Maduro. It is an open path, not only for Venezuela but for the whole continent, in its process of integration and emancipation against imperialism", Mola said.
The vice-president of the EL stated that the Party of the European Left has always given fully support to the Bolivarian process which is widely and continuously backed by the Venezuelan people. The EL reinforces even more its support in these moments, stressed by the long-time destabilization campaign and the recent attempted of coup d´etat, reported by Nicolas Maduro last February 12th.
Maite Mola valued very positively the Declaration of the Committee of Foreign Ministers of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and its general Secretary, Ernesto Samper, ratifying, from Caracas, the absolute defence of the democratic continuity in Venezuela. The vice-president of the EL invited the European institutions to follow the example of UNASUR in its work for the defence of democratic processes rather than contributing with the destabilization of the country, following the path of the interventionist policy of the United States.
On the other hand, Maite Mola continues her bilateral meetings with women leaders of the Latin American left, as the one she had yesterday with the Minister for Women of Venezuela, Andreina Tarancón and the Cuban leader and deputy Mariela Castro. Todays she will speak at a forum for the solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution within the Venezuelan Congress of Women.
On her return, on February 10, the vice president of the EL will be available to share with the media a valuation on her visit to Venezuela and on the situation in the country.
