This afternoon has started, in Barcelona, the I Foro of the South of Europe, with the hope of a victory of Syriza next Sunday, showing that there is an alternative to austerity, with is not only possible but necessary. "Change can begin in Greece. And the left alliance is crucial for the change." Alepa Krasopuolou, said it on behalf of Syriza, during the inauguration of the Forum of the South of Europe. She added that "the moment is crucial, the opportunity is not going to repeat, and if we do not bring the change, Marie Le Pen will do it."
Cayo Lara, coordinator of Izquierda Unida (IU) spoke about this unity of the left. Cayo underlined that all the countries of the South of the federal Europe share similar problems such as the debt, the deficit of the public accounts,  unemployment, the interest rates,  poverty, the exclusion and the humanitarian crisis. “To face the attacks on all the rights we need to develop a global answer from the political parties, the trade unions, the social movements and the platforms”, concluding that “it is necessary to work  together to construct  the necessary alternative”.
Dolors Camats, national coordinator of ICV, also denounced the destruction of rights in order to accumulate wealth in few rich people hands. She stressed the need to build together to try to implement our policies to bring changes in the lives of the people. "Our rebelliousness has made us start a project to change things:  made us define a common strategy to strive to knock down austerity in a European scale and to attempt to speak together  as the Lefts of the south of Europe.”
Joan Josep Nuet, national coordinator of EUiA, welcomed this initiative, with the conviction that for a few days Barcelona will become the capital of Europe and the desire  for change in Greece extends throughout Europe.
