Maite Mola: “This is the most brutal attempt to destabilize Latin America”

The Party of the European Left participated in a solidarity meeting – on the 2nd of March in Madrid and together with the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Madrid Mario Ricardo Isea – against the aggression towards the Venezuelan people in a vital moment for the Bolivian revolution which is menaced by what Maite Mola referred to “as the most brutal attempt to destabilize Latin America”.

The EL-Vicepresident ascribed the responsibility – amongst others - to the United States and the European Union as forging “this destabilization with a coup-like form” and denounced the recent resolution of the European Parliament in which it interferes, using a “colonialist” position, into the sovereign politics of Venezuela, while it gives priority to the international economic interests over the right to self-determination of the Venezuelan people. She furthermore recalled that the resolution had been adopted with 463 votes, including the support of the European social democracy.

The objective of this coup-like manoeuvre, according the EL-Vicepresident, is “the necessity to destroy the conquests of the Venezuelan people so that they won't be able to serve as an example for other countries”, and as they couldn't do it cleanly during the last elections of the last months, they try to do it by “fascist methods and through a coup d'état” as they had tried before in 2002.

Maite Mola announced the visit of an EL-delegation of the highest level to Venezuela for the upcoming June.
