Alexis Tsipras is visiting Ljubljana tomorrow, 1st March, to speak at a big public event organized in the Union Hotel at 11am, by the newly-born coalition of the “United Left”.
The “United Left” of Slovenia is a “child” of the dialogue for the unity of the Slovenian Left, that started last year, during the unprecedented popular mobilizations that took place all over the country against corruption and misery.
The coalition was officially born a few weeks ago, after the agreement of the “Party for Sustainable Development”, the “Democratic Labor Party” and the “Initiative for Democratic Socialism” on a common program, and aims at a dynamic performance of the alternative left in the forthcoming European elections.
Alexis Tsipras will address the Slovenian audience to present the alternative program of the European Left for overcoming the crisis through the termination of austerity policies and the rejuvenation of democracy in Europe.
He will also present his candidacy for the Presidency of the EU Commission, as a candidacy that wishes to unite the widest possible spectrum of anti-austerity, left and progressive forces, in the fight for the radical change of the balance of power in Europe.
