The Party of the European Left subscribes to the act that passed Nelson Mandela in 1996 for the free choice of the end of the pregnancy, which guaranteed to all "the right to decide to end early pregnancy in a safe and legal way".

In Spain with the approval of this draft, in addition to eliminating the terms of the current law, passed in 2010,it will be a set of assumptions similar to the law of 85, among whom, it shall be limited to the right to abortion in case of fetal malformation.

Also the draft will mean the end of deadlines which currently allow freely terminate a pregnancy up to 14 weeks and allows abortion young women from 16 to 18 years without the obligation of paternal and maternal authorization.

In the moment that the reform of the law of the abortion is approved, the EL, along with the feminist movement, calls to take the streets of all the countries of Europe.

We join the claim of all women, regardless of their age or administrative status, to be able to access the voluntary interruption of pregnancy in the public health network and with guarantees.

The reform of the abortion is part of a "very clear agenda of cuts both at the economic level as that of involving a throwback and a frontal attack on the fundamental rights of women in Spain and Europe.

We claim that the voluntary interruption of the pregnancy stops being typified as a crime in the Penal Code and that its service is provided inside the public health network, regardless of the origin, age, sexual orientation or administrative situation of anyone who requests it.

Furthermore, we demand to ensure access to an affective-sexual education free from gender stereotypes, healthy and pleasant and the effective regulation of conscientious objection in Spain and in any other corner of Europe which does not respect this human rights of women.

We call for the right of freedom for free abortion in Spain and in Europe.

Party of the European Left,
