An enormous popular mobilisation has taken place during the last weeks to protest against the reactionary decisions of president Mursi, opposing the objectives of the revolution.

It is the strong popular mobilisation that forced the military forces to adopt key elements of the road map that progressive forces had been campaigning for during the last weeks. They want a new constituent assembly and preparations for new elections.

It is important in this situation that the popular mobilization continues and strengthens the revolutionary and democratic process. This could open a new phase in the revolution.

We congratulate the Egyptian progressive people and forces on their courage and perseverance and wish them success in the continuation of the democratic process.
