he neoliberal model drags into a humanitarian disaster more and more countries and regions around the world. The unprecedented levels of poverty, unemployment and social exclusion deprives this model of legitimacy. The European Union and all its member states are in need of a radical change of the existing undemocratic system, where money not people is the most important factor.

The fair civil protests in the poorest EU country took down the authoritarian right government of GERB and caused pre-term parliamentary elections. The parties of the “transition” are needless. Their right-wing policies led to a huge social inequality. The principal difference between left and right governments was lost. PES and BSP became part of the neoliberal consensus, which is not working for the people on the continent.

The European Left considers endorsing the status quo in Bulgaria and ignoring the democratic demands of the huge majority of citizens is a road to nowhere. Protestors declared that they are against the building blocks of modern capitalism- monopolies, cartels, banks and oligarchy. Only a huge change and entering of new political and citizen representatives can give a chance and hope to the country.

The European Left stands behind the authentic left parties and that is why it will give full and unconditional political support to the Bulgarian Left Party in its consecutive efforts for a radical change in the country. We conduct a joint struggle for a different European Union and different Bulgaria- democratic, sustainable, ecological, peaceful and socially just. The firm resistance and the real alternative are our main causes. The change of the status quo and moving forward of the society is our mission.

Every vote for the Bulgarian Left Party will be one for a solidary and prosperous Europe.
