The Party of the European Left  supports the beginning of the dialogue process which will bring peace to Colombia. The political will which have been declared by both sides will make progress on the phase of  negotiations.They are the cause for hope for the people of Colombia and for those people who have been solidary on this demand.

If this dialogue process is fair and democratic, peace will be possible. If the right to land, if the victims' rights are recognized, if right to the exercise of democracy, human rights and the right to social security are respected, peace will be also possible. A fair peace can’t be built above the impunity of those people who have become rich at the expense of hundreds of thousands of people from Colombia.

The Party of the European Left  expresses all its solidarity with the people of Colombia and is prepared to go with them to the mobilizations with the aim of supporting this process which will change the history of the country.
