Last June 9 &10  was organized an international conference of the Party of European Left  about "Crisis and Democracy", in Minsk, Belarus. At least four speakers of our party were prevented from entering the territory of Belarus.

Some, like Jiri Hudecek from Czech Republic, Vladimir and Sergei Jurgens Kruchinin from Estonia did not obtain the necessary visas for their visit.

Pedro Marset, former MEP, has difficulties to obtain a visa but could take a flight to Minsk. But once at the airport, he was not allowed to enter the territory. No explanation has been provided about the reasons for the refusal. It has been forced to pay 90 euros to get out of the country.

The European Left Party strongly condemns these scandalous practices that questiones about the conditions of democracy in Belarus.
