Today Attila Vajnai, member of the EL-council of chairpersons and Leader of the Hungarian workers' party 2006, was stopped and arrested together with around twenty militants.
Their crime? Having demonstrated for the international day of workers.
It's a shame!
This scandalous arrest represents a renewed prove of the authoritative drifts of Viktor Orban's government, which doesn't cease to persecute the democratic forces of Hungary.
The Party of the European left strongly condemns this unjustified repression. It is more than ever the time for mobilization and solidarity with the progressive forces of Europe.
