The European Left Party congratulates the courage of these amazing women and men, young people who fought for freedom and democracy in their country and reminded that they are the ones who make the history of their nation.

All those who, throughout the world are in solidarity with the Egyptian people in their revolution to take their destiny in their hand wish that the state of emergency in force since 1981, has finally ended and that the fall of the despot quickly allows the beginning of a democratic transition and the holding of free elections.

The EL will develop the solidarity and support the democratic and progressive forces of Egypt who act for a society with rights, social justice and freedom.
