Above all we are angered by the Netanyahu government who must stop the building of settlements that has led to the disruption of the Israeli-Palestinian talks in yet another dangerous setback for the peace process.
Fully convinced that the Palestinian problem is the key issue for peace in the volatile Middle East region, we urgently call for new initiatives for the termination of the Palestinian tragedy. We call upon the EU and its member states, to recognize a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
This process, which is already in motion with significant results internationally, may create a new dynamic towards a final peace settlement in accordance with UN resolutions.
