On Friday the 25th of November we celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. For the Party of the European Left the fight for equality and against gender violence has been and continues to be a fundamental axis in our policy and proposals towards society, because it is only possible to change the world if women and men are equal in rights and liberties.

Our commitment for a world without sexist violence needs a radical change in social structures so this struggle is also to put an end the patriarchal society that is the basis of sexist violence.

We know that in order to achieve an egalitarian world without gender violence, we need to change the culture and social conscience that tends to minimize and individualize inequality and violence against women.

Although this is a fight we conduct throughout the whole year, on this date, we shout STOP violence against women NOW! To achieve it we must be even more active supporting and participating in the activities organized in our countries this 25th of November.

Zero tolerance of violence against women.
