The realisation of plans to deploy US military bases in Poland, and in the Czech Republic, like the bases already constructed or under construction in Bulgaria and Romania will seriously endanger the security of the countries supplying their territories to US military, but even more they will endanger peace, stability, good neighbourhood and common security at the European and global level.

The EL fully supports its observer party Young Socialists in their struggle together with the Polish peace movement against the military bases; it also supports the struggle of all other peace forces in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Romania that are confronted with similar challenges out of US plans to deploy military bases and forces in the Eastern and South East European countries.
