The Party of the European Left declares its solidarity with the friends and families of the more than 80 people killed in the incomprehensible attack that happened this 14th of July in Nice. On its national day, France witnesses another violent attack despite all its anti-terrorist security measures.

Unfortunately, non-sense attacks like this keep happening in Europe and all over the world and as we have been advocating for a long time, the responses from the international community are not being effective, so we take this opportunity to remember that terror must not be fought with more terror, regardless of the authors.

The European Left, again and again, declares its commitment to peace, justice and solidary internationalism, where this kind of events might never take place, nor in France, nor in any other place. We believe another Europe and another World are possible and for sure needed.
