Let us eradicate poverty and war
It is the objective that the most powerful countries of the world gave themselves at the end of the cold war in 1989. There would be no need any more to waste huge amount of money in armament, they say, and it should ease the eradication of poverty for the year 2000.
Where are we in 2007?
The United States returned into a long phase of global war against "terrorism" and the level of military spending practically became equal to the one of the cold war time.
During the same time, poverty increased during the 90s because of the commercial and financial policies of the rich countries, which strengthened the causes of impoverishment.
The peoples urgently require seeing Europe cancel the poor countries debts. A women’s world march brought to the UNO a five million signatures petition demanding that the half of the most discriminated part of humanity, that is women, not to be any more the victims of poverty and violence.
Let us stop Europe imposing a partnership in Maghreb for the creation of a free trade area which does not bring either security, or prosperity, but which destroys their local savings, increases poverty and fundamentalisms, and putting the population in particular women, in unacceptable life conditions.
In the Mediterranean social forum, women denounced their double exploitation: the patriarchal traditions, which weaken them and the impact of the liberal policies that they first undergo.
Women of the North and of the South of the Mediterranean Sea want to change the Mediterranean Euro-partnership to go towards co-development.

There is urgency of a just Middle East solution
A women's delegation of the French communist party went to the Middle East, some time ago.
We saw Palestinians exhausted by the hardness of their resistance, but who still stand after 50 years.
We saw women politically active, we saw men taking care of children.
We saw refugees who showed us their most precious belonging: the key of their house taken by Israelis.
We saw parents who lamented their wounded, killed, imprisoned child.
We also saw women Israeli women who militate for peace.
Europe, which is historically and geographically connected with Palestine and Israel, has to act strongly for the application of the UNO resolutions and thus the creation of a Palestinian state. The Palestinian women say that this is urgent because the Hamas ascent in power is dangerous for their future.

Solidarity with the South American women
Only a Europe liberated from the free and not falsified competition can show solidarity with the social struggle in Latin America.

Notably with the Mexican mothers who based their association " That our daughters be back home ". They fight against the disappearance of their daughters (held, tortured, violated) in the Chihuahua region, made the inhumanity engendered by the narcotrafficking. Solidarities to call to the international authorities have to develop because complicities are situated at the highest level implying political, judicial and police personalities without forgetting the big bosses of this province.

Class struggle is international
The communist party denounces the violent attacks of capital on the world of the work in the North and the pursuit of its plunder in the South. Capitalism leaves behind it islands of poverty, obliging the inhabitants to immigrate for survival.
The communist activists shout with the Without Papers that the question is not to welcome all the world misery, the question is to fight together against those who create the world misery.

The French women said “no” to the European constitution
They put a slap in the European capitalism.
Women of the French communist party were very active in the battle for the “no” vote. They organized numerous meetings and I can show that the little room dedicated to women in the European constitution worked against it.
In the 21th century, we do not want that the equality man/woman to remain an objective, first edicted in the treaty of Rome 50 years ago, and repeated in the constitutional treaty; we want it to be an established principle which structures the European construction.
We said no to the obligation increasing the national military budgets and to the creation of a European military budget.
We said no to an ecology dependent on the short-term financial streams, incompatible with human development and the preservation of the environment.

Europe can change the balance of power in the world
Yes, we are for Europe because it is a central level for the fight against capitalism. The European States, which represent a quarter of the world wealth, have the means to resist to the United States power, to the transnational firms and to the capital movements.

Let us dream of a Europe which, liberated of the capitalist logics, would change the balance of power in the negotiations with the WTO and would use all its weight in favour of the world of the work in aid of all the peoples of the planet.

Then, women could make their children grow in a world where young people would pursue their invention of a new humanity.
